SHEFFIELD 101010

11.10.2026 – RACE REPORT BY HELEN K

The Sheffield TenTenTen celebrated its 15th and final running this year — a last hurrah for one of the UK’s most-loved multi‑terrain 10ks, first launched on 10/10/2010 and organised by Kandoo Events. Endcliffe Park was absolutely buzzing when our little Stocksbridge crew — me, Rach, Jenny, Cathy and Kate — rolled in for the big send‑off.

Rach kindly scooped me and Jenny up en route, and by the time we arrived the kids’ 2.5k fun run was already in full, chaotic, joyful flight — tiny legs everywhere, parents sprinting behind them, and the kind of atmosphere that makes you grin before you’ve even pinned your number on.

We joined the traditional loo queue shuffle, did what needed to be done, and met Cathy and Kate for a quick pre‑race photo. Bag drop was seamless, the music warm‑up was high‑energy, and then — bang — we were OFF.

The TenTenTen is famous for its creative, mixed‑terrain loop: grass, road, paved paths and flowing woodland trails, with plenty of twists, turns and “lumps and bumps” to keep things interesting.

We headed out around the grassy field, dipped briefly onto Rustlings Road, then into Bingham Park for that cheeky grassy climb. Once we hit the woodland trails, I felt properly at home — invoking the wise words of our resident trail queen Rach and letting the handbrake off as I skipped over roots and settled into the rhythm.

A stretch back on asphalt took us into Endcliffe Park again, and as I looped into the field I clocked the runner just ahead — Jake from work. I hollered, nipped past him, and immediately felt the competitive spark: right then, let’s see if I can stay ahead of the young whippersnapper… Exactly the push I needed :D.

Back up into Bingham Park for the final lap, legs burning but spirits high, and then a dash to the finish — the classic TenTenTen blend of grit, fun and woodland magic.

Post‑Race Shenanigans
One by one, we cheered the team through the line, then grabbed a post‑race photo before saying goodbye to Cathy and Kate. Me, Rach and Jenny stuck around for the prize giving, fuelled by good tunes and the Endcliffe Park buzz.

To my absolute delight, I snaffled 1st in the “speedy old bird” category — complete with a cute trainer‑shaped medal and a free pair of Altras courtesy of MyRaceKit, who sponsor the event’s prize haul.
RESULT.

We rounded off the morning with a sauna and ice bath. Despite being self‑confessed reluctant cold‑water dippers, Jenny and Rach absolutely aced it — three minutes each in six‑degree water, followed by a big steamy whoosh in the sauna. Honestly, a perfect way to spend a Sunday.

Even though this was my first time running the TenTenTen, it was clear why people talk about it with such affection. Fifteen years of runners weaving through Endcliffe and Bingham, and a proper Sheffield favourite that’s introduced so many to mixed‑terrain running.

I’m genuinely chuffed I managed to get myself onto it before it disappears from the calendar, and honestly wish I’d tried it sooner — it’s exactly my kind of race. Great company, great trails, great atmosphere. If this was its last outing, I’m just glad I finally got to be part of it.
