A good turnout for Stocksbridge Running Club’s AGM and social on Sunday the 13th of July, as the AGM was followed by a community minded litter-picking pub-crawl starting at the King and Miller in Deepcar. The club members are heavy users of the pavements, trails and paths around Stocksbridge and Deepcar, and felt that a shin-dig with an environmental focus would be excellent for both the club and the wider community. Family members, kiddies and friends were all roped into helping, and we made excellent progress as we snapped up wrappers, cans, bottles, and quite a few pieces of cars on the stretch along Manchester Road. A smaller group diverted off towards the river Don to make sure that the trails were swept of debris as well as the pavements. We’re always on the look out for community minded projects to contribute to, and so if folks reading feel the club could help them out in a similar way on a future social, reach out and let’s see what we can do! Bravo team 🙂
